.NET/C# Software Development Engineer

About the Role
My client is seeking a .NET/C# Software Development Engineer to join our growing team in Limerick. Working as part of a collaborative cross-functional group, this individual will contribute to the development of next-generation desktop applications used in high-reliability diagnostic environments.
This role is particularly suited to developers with a passion for creating robust, maintainable, and user-centric applications in a .NET/C# environment.
You will report directly to the Product Development Engineering Manager and work closely with a multidisciplinary team including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery:
- Design and implement new features for our desktop software applications using C# and .NET.
- Translate user and system requirements into technical tasks and deliverables.
- Ensure quality documentation and artefacts are maintained at each software release point.
Team Collaboration:
- Operate as an effective team player in a cross-functional agile development environment.
- Maintain a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Support shared team goals with a cooperative and respectful approach.
Process & Compliance:
- Deliver work in accordance with agile methodologies and sprint planning.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of software releases.
- Ensure all activities are aligned with internal Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in software development.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with C# and the .NET Framework.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Effective communicator, capable of working well within and across teams.
- Demonstrates initiative, urgency, and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with SQL Server or SQL Server Express.
- Knowledge of WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
- Background in regulated environments or medical software development is a plus.
